Official White Stag Camp of Northern California – Founded in 1958

Preparing for White Stag summer camp

White Stag camp is around the corner! We’re getting excited, how about you? If you’re already registered for camp, here’s a summary that’ll help you get ready. Onsite camp check-in is on Sunday, July 5 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. sharp. Don’t be late!

Driving to Camp  Cole

Once in Sacramento, allow up to 2 hours and 15 minutes to drive to Camp Cole. The camp is near Cisco Grove, about 1 hour and 30 minutes east of Sacramento and 25 minutes west of Truckee. The 6 mile dirt road into camp is challenging but drivable for most vehicles.  Allow up to another 45 minutes to drive the six-mile road.

Important: The 6 mile dirt road into camp is challenging but drivable for vehicles with 9” or more clearance. Please bring a vehicle suitable for driving into camp. We are unable to provide alternative transportation. We will attempt to arrange carpooling from check in to Camp Cole if possible.

Here are complete directions.

Transportation

Parents are responsible for providing their own transportation to camp. You may carpool with other families if desired. If you are interested in carpooling, please, contact us. We will do our best to help you.

Check-in

Camp check-in begins Sunday, July 5 at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. sharp. Check-in will be held near the Chevron gas station on the south side of the Cisco Grove exit. When check-in is complete, you can drive your child to Camp Cole or arrange to carpool with another family.

Because White Stag camp is a team-building experience, candidates may not arrive late and may not leave camp early except for medical emergencies. Say goodbye to your son or daughter when you drop them off at the Camp Cole parking lot.

Personal equipment

All youth must bring a sack lunch for the first day. Please make sure your candidate has the required personal equipment.  Do not bring food or personal electronics of any kind, including cell phones, to camp. Cameras are permitted. Non-essential items will be held for candidates and stored for safekeeping until graduation.

Youth hiking

Youth will be taking short hikes suitable to their age and physical capabilities. Depending on their age, the hike will vary in length from about 5 miles to as much as 12 miles over 1-3 days. They will sleep in their own tent while on camp but may share a tent with another candidate during the hike.

Vehicle parking

With the exception of loading and unloading during check-in and check-out, you may only park your vehicle parking in the camp parking lot. You must park your vehicle with your front end out, so that in the event of an emergency, you can exit the parking lot without turning  your car around. Read our complete policies.

Graduation

Candidate graduation is Saturday, July 11. All parents are invited! Get the details here.
