White Stag camp is around the corner! We’re getting excited, how about you? If you’re already registered for camp, here’s a summary that’ll help you get ready. Onsite camp check-in is held at Cisco Grove behind the gas station on the first Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. sharp. Don’t be late!

Driving to Camp  Cole

Camp Cole is near Cisco Grove, about 1 hour and 30 minutes east of Sacramento and 25 minutes west of Truckee.

Important: The six-mile dirt road into camp requires a pick up truck, SUV, or other vehicle with 9” or more clearance.  Standard passenger vehicles are not suitable. We provide transportation into camp if you don’t have a suitable vehicle. If you drive into Camp Cole, allow up to additional 45 minutes.

Here are complete directions.

Transportation

Parents are responsible for providing their own transportation to camp. You may carpool with other families if desired. If you are interested in carpooling, please, contact us. We will do our best to help you.

Check-in

Camp check-in begins Sunday morning the first day of camp at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. sharp. Check-in is held behind the Chevron gas station on the south side of the Cisco Grove exit. When check-in is complete, if you have a pick up, SUV, four-wheel drive, or other suitable vehicle, you can drive your child to Camp Cole or arrange to carpool with a staff leader or another family.

Because White Stag camp is a team-building experience, candidates may not arrive late and may not leave camp early except for medical emergencies. Say goodbye to your son or daughter when you drop them off.

Personal equipment

All youth must bring a sack lunch for the first day. Please make sure your candidate has the required personal equipment.  Do not bring food or personal electronics of any kind, including cell phones, to camp. Cameras are permitted. Non-essential items will be held for candidates and stored for safekeeping until graduation.

Youth hiking

Youth will be taking short hikes suitable to their age and physical capabilities. Depending on their age, the hike will vary in length from about 5 miles to as much as 12 miles over 1-3 days. They will sleep in their own tent while on camp but may share a tent with another candidate during the hike.

Vehicle parking

With the exception of loading and unloading during check-in and check-out, if you drive into camp, you may only park your vehicle in the camp parking lot. You must park your vehicle with its front end out, so that in the event of an emergency, you can exit the parking lot without turning  your car around. Read our complete policies.

Graduation

Candidate graduation is Saturday, the final day of camp. All parents and leaders are invited! Get the details here.
